About A Mind Less Wasted
Reclaim Your Mind.
A Mind Less Wasted is a commitment to thinking for yourself.
In an age of algorithms, outrage, and endless noise, critical thinking is an act of rebellion. I believe in asking difficult questions, challenging assumptions, examining evidence, and following the facts wherever they lead, not simply accepting popular narratives or conventional wisdom.
Knowledge has little value without curiosity, skepticism, and the willingness to change your mind when the evidence demands it.
Here you'll find evidence-based fact-checks, scientific analysis, media criticism, and long-form investigations that challenge claims from every side.
My goal isn’t to tell you what to think; it’s to present the evidence as accurately, fairly, and honestly as I can so you can reach your own conclusions.
I don’t expect you to agree with everything I write. I do hope you’ll leave with a better understanding of the evidence, and perhaps a few better questions than you started with.
Critical thinking is an act of rebellion.
Extraordinary claims deserve extraordinary evidence, whether they come from governments, corporations, scientists, journalists, or independent researchers.
A Little About Me
I’m V.J. Mercer. My college studies included journalism, where I developed an early grounding in research, sourcing, and fact-checking. Since 2001, I have continued applying those principles to controversial claims, scientific debates, and widely circulated narratives. I examine primary evidence, peer-reviewed literature, government records, and original documents, then show readers how the evidence supports, or fails to support, the claims being made. My goal is to help all of us, myself included, think more critically, evaluate the evidence, and reach our own conclusions.
Fueled by coffee, powered by bacon, overly enthusiastic about mustard, and occasionally armed with sarcasm. You’ve been warned.

Mission Statement
A Mind Less Wasted exists to produce careful, transparent, evidence-based analysis of scientific claims, media narratives, public policy, and other topics that shape public understanding.
Every article is built on a foundation of primary sources, peer-reviewed research where available, official records, and transparent reasoning. Conclusions are guided by the strength of the evidence rather than ideology, popularity, or authority.
We believe readers deserve more than opinions; they deserve to see the evidence, understand the reasoning, and decide for themselves.
We value intellectual honesty over certainty, evidence over assumption, and curiosity over dogma. When credible new evidence changes our understanding, we will change with it.
A less wasted mind never stops asking questions.
Editorial Policy
A Mind Less Wasted exists to encourage critical thinking, not to promote a predetermined narrative.
Unless otherwise noted, articles are based on publicly available evidence, primary source documents, official records, and peer-reviewed research where available.
If credible new evidence changes the evidence or conclusions of an article, we will update it and clearly note the revision. Following the evidence wherever it leads is more important than defending a previous position.
